Hosta 'Frosted Jade' (L.Maroushek,'78) Large Ht=28" W=60"
This one was recommended to us by the folks at The Bickelhaupt Arboretum in Clinton, IA, and let me tell you I'm not disappointed. A lesser-known cultivar, I can't understand why H. 'Frosted Jade' isn't more widely grown. A mature specimen is simply gorgeous. Giant dark green leaves have incredible pure-white margins. The 'frosted' part of H.'Frosted Jade' is a waxy, waxy coating like that of the great blue cultivars, but it's rather unheard of in a variegated green. This is one great hosta. Pale lavender flowers. Sport of H. montana.
