Hosta 'Lakeside Looking Glass'

I've always admired this popular hosta. Its bold H. 'Pauls Glory' variegation changes from blue-green with a chartreuse center to a brighter gold by summer. H. Such a fun hosta, and with all the new sports arising from H. 'Striptease' H. 'Striptease' it is certainly a must-have. Leaves exhibit a gold center forming a bold strip right in the middle (those leaves really should learn to be more modest) bordered by dark green margins. Leave it to hosta hybridizer Paul Aden H. 'Sum & Substance' to cultivate this gigantic classic hosta. This hosta is perfect for the 'instant gratification gardener', as it matures quickly. Very striking in early spring, as its bright gold color dominates the hosta garden. H. 'Sum & Substance' is very sun tolerant, and easy, easy, easy to grow. Although leaves are not of dramatic substance, it does show good slug resistance. Leaf color depends upon the amount of sun exposure. If you've read some of my hosta descriptions, you'll know that H. 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa' H. 'Tokudama Aureonebulosa' is one of my favorites, due to its super thick substance and heavy corrugation.
