Agastache Blue Fortune

Agastache 'Blue Fortune' (Anise Hyssop)    36"  Z4-9  Sun-part shade

This is a plant I call an easy keeper with lots of impact. It has a tremendously long season of bloom (midsummer thru early fall) and is in no way particular about soil type (it doesn't even mind our clay). In one season a plant will grow to a compact 3-ft by 3-ft clump. Bees love the purple bottle-brush flowers that literally cover the plant. When crushed the leaves have a black licorice scent. It reminds me of Pervoskia without the woodiness. Great for the middle to the back of the border. Combines well with Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm', Achillea 'Moonshine', and shorter Asters. Easy!
