Anemone hupehensis (Japanese Anemome) 30" Z5-8 Sun-pt shade
The 3 in. pale-pink flowers of this Anemone are on tall scapes above neat compact green foliage. The blooms almost seem to dance in the wind. They're appearance comes at a welcome time in our garden - just after the summer lull and before the Chrysanthemums. My patch (which has multiplied enormously from three plants) does quite well in afternoon shade. A. hupehensis tends to break dormancy later in the spring.
